The 2026 Makah Fisheries Management Summer Internship concluded with the interns final research presentations. Each of the interns worked diligently to apply the scientific method towards learning relevant background information on their research topic, developing methods and collecting sound data, analyzing the results of their studies, and understanding the significance of their research findings. These are foundational skills for scientists and make for critical thinkers in the world. Nani, Matthew, and Jessiah should feel proud of all they accomplished to successfully conduct a scientific experiment and share that work with others through the deliverables of a final presentation and a research poster. A big thank you to all the family and friends of the interns, the community, MFM staff, and our other intern colleagues who attended the final presentations. Congratulations to the 2026 interns for a job well done! Their research posters and project descriptions are available on the Intern Research Projects page.
