The 2024 Makah Fisheries Management Summer Internship Program concluded with research project presentations from each of the four interns. The independent research projects require the interns to develop a research question of interest by applying the scientific method to their studies, which includes reading background literature, collecting organized data, and analyzing those data for patterns and trends that answer their scientific questions. Adan, Cosmo, Leo, and Xavier were able to present their research and display their project posters for their families, friends, members of the community, tribal staff, and internship collaborators to learn about the impressive work that each intern conducted. The final presentations were a great way to celebrate the achievements and hard work from each of the interns this summer, who have much to be proud of for all that they learned and accomplished! The research posters and project descriptions can be found here.
