This year we have four awesome interns who have been hard at work learning about what it’s like to work in fisheries and natural resource management. Meet them below!

Laney Keyes

Hi, my name is Laney Keyes. I applied for this internship position because I’m interested in wildlife preservation and biology. I’m going to be a senior in high school, and this internship has taught me about what to expect if I would like to pursue a career in biology or ecology. Being able to work a job that teaches me about what I’m interested in before I go off to college is an opportunity I am happy I took. I love being out in nature, but I don’t have very many opportunities that take me there. This internship, on the other hand, allows me to have the experience of what it’s like to actually get out there and see what nature has to offer; as well as learn about how to preserve it.

Kaeden Butterfield

Hello, my name is Kaeden Butterfield and I am 14. The reason I am here is to learn what it’s like to have a job. Also I am here to learn about my culture. Some things I like to do are go hiking, go watch sunset, have fires at the beach, and to play video games.

Toby Croy

In my free time I play football, go to the community gym and fitness center, listen to music, and play video games (not too much though). My favorite sport is football, I’ve liked football for a very very long time. I listen to rap and R&B music. I go to the community gym mainly to socialize, but also to stay in shape and play basketball. I’m interested in this internship to learn about working this kind of job.

Angelina Woods

My name is Angelina Woods. I took the fisheries internship because of the opportunity it gave me. I feel this internship gives me the experience in the type of field I would like to study for in college, and maybe one day have a career in. I’m excited for what I will learn this summer, and what I will be working on this summer.
